We always wanted a house. The reality of the house prices in the City were depressing. One of the reasons we moved was so we could finally realize our dream of a house on a large lot. Finding a house for the cost of our City apartment in the Okanagan was not easy. We must have looked at 30 houses in our price range. We made 11 offers on 10 houses but were unsuccessful.
We found our house unconventionally and completed a private sale with an elderly couple who were downsizing. They were the second owners of the house and owned it for more than thirty years. In that time not one update was done. We saw potential, an empty canvas in a neighbourhood we wanted to be in. A lot of work but with Jeff not working, we are betting that he will be able to find his 'handy' side.
